Friends of Catton Park-2012

The Friends' programme for 2012 kicked off with a very enjoyable Quiz and Chips in the Church Hall. Competition was fierce as we answered questions set by our quiz master Steve Spawls. Many thanks to all who helped out at this very enjoyable event - we will be holding one next January so don't miss out!

On Monday 5 March the Friends will be holding their AGM in the Church Hall. Tea or coffee will be available from 7:15pm for a prompt start at 7:30pm. After the AGM Mr Ray Jones from Old Catton Society will be giving a talk. All are welcome to come along to this event which is free - although only members may vote at the AGM.

On Saturday 7 April (Easter Weekend) the Easter Bunny will be hiding eggs in the woods in Catton Park for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. The Hunt will start in the picnic area at 10am. Tickets, which must be bought in advance please, are £2 per child. Tickets are available from The Little House Dental Surgery during practice hours (8am to 3:30pm Mon - Wed & Fri; 1 - 7pm Thurs) at 75 Spixworth Road, telephone 415760. Tickets are also available from Karen on 423125 or Liz on 409905. After the Hunt why not join us for a drink and a bake - included in the children's ticket price, £1 per adult. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please leave your dogs at home - thank you!

The Friends will be having a display at the village Jubilee celebrations on Monday 4 June. To mark the occasion we are holding a photographic competition. The competition is open to all (except members of the Friends Committee). There will be a prize for under 16's and for 16 and over. Entry to the competition is free. Photos must be of some aspect of the Park but may have been taken at any time. To enter your photo please post or hand deliver a print to Friends of Catton Park (Photo Competition), 81 Spixworth Road, Norwich NR6 7NQ to arrive by Saturday 19 May. Please enclose your name, address, telephone number, email address and whether you are under 16 or 16+ with your entry. The print does not have to be high quality - if your photo is short listed we will contact you and ask for a JPG version (or
a high quality print if you use film). The best photos will be displayed on our stand at the Jubilee celebrations. We may also post them to the website or use them in future newsletters.
