The Education Group is very pleased that Louise Ambrose, on contract with Norfolk County Council Children’s Services, is running a Level 1 Forest School Training Course in Catton Park kindly hosted by Old Catton C of E Junior School on May 22nd/23^rd. 

 

This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who works with children or young people to develop how they use the outdoor environment as a valuable learning resource for play, personal development, education and creativity.

 

The philosophy of Forest School is to build children and young people’s confidence, self esteem and independence through exploring and experiencing the natural world.  Learners are supported by trained adults through careful modelling and scaffolding, to achieve tasks that are broken down into small achievable chunks.

 

Sixteen candidates are booked on this course and we hope they will, in due time, return to Catton Park with their groups to develop the Forest School programme.
