Norfolk International Projects was formed in November 2003 with the aim

of working with young people aged 15 to 25 to give them the opportunity

for cultural youth exchange projects in Norfolk and abroad.

The exchange this year involved young people from Norwich's three twin

cities, Rouen, Koblenz and Novi Sad, as well as groups from Norwich and Croatia.

It was suggested that the group carry out some environmental work so they were

put in touch with Ken Leggett as the organisers were aware of the Catton

Park project.  So it was that on two boiling hot days on the 27th and 28th of July,

two groups of volunteers set about clearing scrub and pathways in Catton Park.

An article in the Norwich advertiser went on to say, "Those taking part in the

clear-up operation said they were enjoying the work and their trip to Norwich, and

a range of other activities, including trips to London and Cambridge.  Ivan Kvolik

from Croatia said 'this is my first time in England.  It's very good here; we have

been impressed by the politeness of the people and the culture and buildings'.

You can view a few images of the youngsters clearing Catton Park below.
