The Catton Park Trust has made an application to the
Heritage Lottery Fund
(HLF) for a grant to restore and enhance Catton Park, which
is at present a
private estate of woodland and farmland.
The aim of the project is to open the Park for free
access to the local community
for quiet enjoyment and recreation for people of all
ages.
The final application was submitted mid-August 2005
and discussions with
the Heritage Lottery Fund will continue for several
months.
It is hoped that, with a favourable decision from the
HLF before the end of the
year. If successful, the restoration work could begin early
in 2006.
