On a glorious early spring day, a walk around Catton Park
was held to raise
awareness of the Catton Park project - and to get
some expert information
about the trees, birds and wildlife in the
park.
About 175 local people attended. Two groups were given a guided tour of the
park whilst the children were treated to a talk about bugs and
beasties
and were then given an opportunity to make bird and bat
boxes.
The
afternoon was extremely informative and many local people learned
things
about the park that they never knew, such as the oldest oak
tree dating
back to 1507 - 498 years old!
